In the winter of 1995, after a few more boat drinks and having no room left to put 6 more holes in the freezer, a small group of good friends and dedicated Jimmy Buffett phans set their sights to more noble (and sober) deeds.

Annapolis, Maryland - Sailing Capital of the World - became home to its ownParrot Heads in Paradisechapter.  Parrotheads in Paradise, Inc.,through its chapters worldwide, contributes over $1.6 million and 365,000 man hours to various local and national charities. Our local "Angels in Tropical Shirts" have collected

• Tons of canned goods for our local food banks
• 1000s of bags of clothes for homeless shelters
• 100s items for theAnne Arundel County SPCA
• 100s of items for theDavidsonville Wildlife Refuge
• 1000s of cell phones for domestic violence programs
• 1000s of volunteer hours
• and so much more!

We come together for phun and heartily subscribe to the
credo "Party With a Purpose."  To that end, APHC sponsors, participates in and raises funds for many local charitable events, includingSpecial Olympics,The Barnett-Searing National Cancer Foundation,Juvenile Diabetes,American Cancer Society,St. Judes Children's Hospital,Leukemia & Lymphoma Society,Severna Park Assistance Network (SPAN),Chesapeake Bay Oyster Replenishment Project,  and others.
